What happens during a treatment?
Information is gathered about medical history and current issues. This is used to tailor the treatment to the particular needs of the individual.
The receiver wears loose fitting comfortable clothing throughout and no oils (or needles) are used. Shiatsu can be performed at floor level or on a massage table lying on comfortable cushions.
Gentle stretching techniques and pressure are applied to specific areas and acupoints to balance the energy in the body and relieve stiffness and discomfort.
The majority of people find Shiatsu deeply relaxing and enjoyable to receive.
